One of the best things about fall is that all the new television shows are out in full force. With so many new shows coming out, though, it can be hard to decide what to watch and what to skip. Luckily, we’ve provided you with a list of some of the can’t-miss shows for the upcoming season–our picks are so good you’re practically guaranteed to like them!
Dracula
Whether you like vampires or just want to get into that Halloween mood, be sure to check out Dracula, which premieres Friday, October 25 on NBC. Unlike Fox’s Sleepy Hollow, Dracula stays true to its literary roots and is set in the Victorian period. Featuring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the title character, the show focuses on Dracula’s assumed, high-class identity, which he uses to feast on the bluest blood in town. Proclaimed to be the perfect mix of scary and sexy, Dracula is definitely a don’t-miss for the upcoming season.
Reign
Geared toward teens but sure to charm viewers of all ages, Reign starts October 17th on the CW. The show is based around the life of Mary, Queen of Scots, except in this interesting take, she’s a teenager who has just arrived in France. Despite her young age, she’s all set to marry Prince Francis–early marriage was common in the time–and leans on her (super hot) ladies-in-waiting as her best friends. As you might expect, drama and intrigue abound, par for the course for a teen drama. The show is touted as a bit over-the-top but as a fun view nonetheless, making it one to watch.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
Love Joss Whedon, creator of the acclaimed Firefly? If so, you won’t want to miss any more of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D than you already have–the show premiered on September 24th on ABC. The series follows Clark Gregg, risen from the dead and reincarnated as Special Agent Coulson, who has gathered an undercover team to seek out threats of the super-villain variety in New York and to destroy them. The critics haven’t been raving so far, but as any Whedon fan knows, most of his shows don’t get the attention and praise they deserve until they’ve been cancelled. Just in case it’s not here for long, check out Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D while you still can!
